GUEST INFORMATION

We're so excited you are considering Beachview Properties for your next Ocean City, NJ vacation!

Here are a few things for you to know about the Beachview Properties experience:

YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME

  • BEACH & BOARDWALK

    • The Beach: The beach is located at the end of the street, just 1 block away. Access to the beach is on the dirt path over the sand dune or via access ramps up to, and down from, the boardwalk.

    • Beach Tags: 4 beach tags are included with your unit by the front door. While adults
need beach tags on the beach, children under 12 do not. Please be sure to leave your
tags behind at the end of your stay for the next guest to enjoy. There is a $25 charge to
      replace lost tags.

    • Beach Gear: BYO beach gear! Please store beach chairs and other gear in the back of the house. There are hooks on the fence to hang chairs.

    • Boardwalk: Ocean City’s iconic boardwalk begins right at the end of our street. It’s a pleasant 15-minute stroll to the beginning of the businesses, arcades, amusement rides, shops, and restaurants (and more junk food than you can shake a stick at). The boardwalk has many easy access ramps for strollers and wheelchairs. And if you don’t feel like walking, there’s plenty of parking down that way.

    • Seagulls: Seagulls seem to be lurking everywhere on the beach and the boards. They’re not really a problem, they’re just trying to score some easy food off of you. Keep your food close to your chest and covered and it won’t be an easy target for a dive bombing run! And whatever you do DON’T feed them intentionally (it’s illegal…truly). Plus they’ll flock all around you and so will the police.

    • Bikes: Whether you rent or bring your own, bikes are permitted on the boardwalk until 12:00 noon each day and there are marked bike lanes all around town. Please store bikes at the side or back of the house.

    • Sand: For your comfort, we'd like to keep sand out of the house. When returning from the beach, please be sure to rinse off legs, feet, and sandy shoes at one of the hoses (one in the front and one in the back of the house).  The outdoor shower has hot and cold water and is great for a full-body rinse or a refreshing outdoor shower.

  • ABOUT THE HOUSE

    • Parking: Street parking is available (the house does not have a driveway). Street parking can get pretty crowded, so you may need to unload at the house and then go park. There is a first-come, first-serve public handicapped parking spot in front of the house.

    • Keys: There are two keys in a lock box next to the front door of your unit. You will receive the code for the lock box about two weeks before your stay. Please keep track of the keys and make sure both keys are placed back in the box at the end of your stay. Super Guest Tip: Keep one key in the box at all times so no one gets locked out.

    • Kitchen: The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils for cooking. There is a toaster and coffee maker. There is also a full set of plates, bowls, cups, glasses, and eating utensils. Feel free to bring paper products, ‘cause who wants to do dishes on vacation!

    • Laundry: There is a shared laundry room (washer and dryer) outside the back door of the Second Floor unit. It’s BYOD (bring your own detergent). Please be mindful not to leave clothes for too long so other guests may use it. Each unit has a clothes line to help with drying – especially good for beach towels and bathing suits.

    • Linen: There are pillows, comforters, and blankets at the house, but you will need to bring your own sheets, pillow cases, and towels.

    • Items to Bring From Home

      • Linens - Sheets, pillow cases (and maybe your own pillow for optimal rest between beach sessions), bath towels, wash cloths, beach towels

      • Laundry detergent, bleach, dryer sheets

      • Paper products - Plates, cups, Solo cups, utensils

      • Beach gear - Chairs, toys, umbrella

      • Sunscreen

      • Entertainment - Games, cards, that book you’ve been wanting to read, DVD movies

      • Not your boss’s phone number

    • Internet: Wi-Fi is available and the login information will be in each unit when you arrive.

    • TV: Each unit has a 32” cable TV with a limited selection of channels. A DVD player is also there for movies.

    • Phone: There is no landline phone service in the house. In the event of an emergency, use a cell phone or go to a neighbors' house to call 911, providing them with the house address and the floor you are staying on.

    • Smoking: As stipulated in the lease, there is no smoking inside the house. Outside please exercise extreme care in extinguishing and cleaning up cigarette butts.

    • Grilling: We love grilling too, but grilling is not permitted on any porch, deck, or stairs.

    • Trash: There are two trash receptacles in each kitchen, one for regular trash and one for recycling. Ocean City co-mingles recycling, so all recyclable materials can go in the same container. Trash and recycling cans are located in the back of the house. Trash/recycling pick up is Mondays and Thursdays from mid-June to the Saturday after Labor Day (pick up is on Fridays the rest of the year). If you would be so kind as to put the cans at the curb the night before it would be most appreciated.

    • Departure Time: Check-out is by 10:00 am (the cleaners arrive promptly at 10:00 am).

    • Cleaning: Before your departure, please be so kind as to vacuum, sweep, and tidy up the house and give a quick wipe to surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom. Please take the trash and recycling out. If table cloths or comforters get soiled, please take the time wash them for the next guest. Our cleaners have limited time so the tidier you leave your unit, the faster it will be ready for the guest. And thank you! We really appreciate your help with this.

    • Unit Problems: Our contact information will be provided to you for the duration of your stay. Please call if anything breaks or is not working properly so we can get it corrected for you quickly.
